The power pitches a line of “liberalization” to Europeans.

On Friday at 10 am there will be the trial of the “Power against criticism and alternatives” case at the court of Zavadski district of Minsk.

Leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka and party activists, Volha Mayorava and Dzianis Krasachka are to be judged there.

The activists of the United Civil Party are summoned to court for handing out printed materials near the entrance of MAZ on April 14. The UCP leader invited the representatives of the diplomatic missions of the EU countries in Belarus to the trial.

“I have no doubts that this is a political case,” – Volha Mayorava said in an interview to ucpb.org. – The distribution of printed materials they will try to turn into holding an unsanctioned event. They do it, as always, cynically, rude and disgusting. On the other hand, the trials demonstrate the fears of the authorities. They are afraid of our criticism of unprofessional actions of the government, they see that people are willing to support our positive alternative – the program “One Million New Jobs.”

Leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka said that the hearing attended by representatives of diplomatic missions.

“Let them see with their own eyes, rather than listen to Lukashenka, Yarmoshyna, Miasnikovich and other troubadours of the regime, – Anatol Liabedzka said. – We offer the diplomats to see the liberalization in practice, and not in words. Now the authorities are pitching a line of “liberalization” to Europeans, talking about some improvement of the electoral legislation, and, in fact, actually paralyzing the possibility for opponents of the regime to communicate with voters. We say to European partners: Stop pretending that nothing is happening, let's call a spade a spade. Silence is the preservation of old and the promotion of new repressions against supporters of changes.”
