The pro-governmental youth organization is as it is financed by taxpayers, and since the next year its members will also have privileges at university admission.

Minister of Education Mikhail Zhuraukou presented Lukashenka his new approaches to the organization of the admittion campaign in 2017. Changes in the rules for admission to institutions of higher and secondary special education will come into effect next year, BelTA reports.

In particular, the new rules will stipulate which of the entrants are able to do without entrance examinations.

Previously a place at the university without examinations could be provided to an applicant solely on the basis of his academic achievements, and since next year, the Education Minister proposed to introduce the preferential right for admission of the winners of the contest “100 Ideas for Belarus” and volunteers of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union movement “Good Heart.”

If Lukashenka gives the green light to these innovations, the Youth Union members will receive another “benefit,” and this pro-government youth organization has a lot of them already.

For example, on the BRYU website there is a list of discounts its members get in different cities. And in some cases, (a visit to the gym, photos for documents he discount is up to 100%, the website charter97.org found out.

However, these benefits are not given at the goodwill expense of the organization, but from the pockets of ordinary Belarusians – Lukashenka does not stop signing decrees on the financing of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union from the country's budget. Much of this expenditure, such as for “youth policy” (in 2016, this is about 64 billion rubles), falls exactly on the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.
