"Police Officers Enjoy the Fact They Can Jail a Person"

The suspect of throwing paint in the building of the BT TV channel told about her detention.

Activists of an anarchist movement detained on June 13 for suspicion of involvement in an action against Belarusian television propaganda were released on June 16. They are suspects in the case initiated under Art. 339, para 2 of the Criminal Code (repeated hooliganism). One of activists who wanted to remain unknown told Nasha Niva about detention and her custody in details: "I was detained next to Partyzanskaya metro station. At that moment I was talking to my mother and came to the station, several people ran to me and caught me by hands. I began to resist and shout, they showed me police certificates and dragged me to the car. they showed their documents to people who paid attention to us and asked not to interfere. As soon as I turned into the vehicle they started asking about an apartment I left and something about drugs. I said I knew nothing about it. Then a driver turned around and asked his colleagues to say the reason of my detention. I was detained for suspicion of throwing paint in the building of the BT TV channel.

Officers of the Serious Organised Crime Department, one of them ran the case of "graffiti makers" and "anti-fascists case" - Lunevich Ihar Pavlovich, the second person was Leonau Dzmitry Leanidavich. I did not know the third person, he visited me in Akrestsina Street. I am a suspect in a crime under Article 339 "Malicious hooliganism committed by a group of persons." After the detention I was taken home for a search of apartment. Later we left for the Department and later to the RUVD, I spent a day there. There were horrible conditions in the RUVD - stone benches, opened door, prisoners who were sent to prisons. It was cold in the cell, documents of my case saved me. As a result, I found out I could make myself comfortable on 5 sheets of A4. I came up with thoughts there -I wish I could be delivered to Akrestsina as soon as possible, there I would be given a blanket. I spent a day with no food. On Tuesday night I was driven to Akrestsina, I an idle time unless all detained were delivered. If compare with conditions in Pershamaiski RUVD, conditions there were acceptable. On Thursday evening I was released.

I was earlier detained for administrative violations. During presidential elections I spent a night in Akrestsina.

However, there were no direct threats to me. It was rather a game. It looks like officers make fun of an opportunity to jail people for a few years. I was told that someone may betray me when I play a partisan and so on.

The only time I was used forced against when I tried to escape when search of my apartment. I was ready for extention of the detention and transfer to Zhodzina. But I was glad when an investigator told I would be released. I was surprised. It is better to be ready for the worse in our country even no crime had been committed”.
