Liabedzka: Pompous Events In Crisis Resemble A Feast In Time Of Plague

The UCP leader has prepared an enquiry to the government and Lukashenka’s Administration with respect to financing of the “All-Belarusian Assembly”.

“Tax payers have a right to know what the budget resources are spent on,” – stated in the appeal of Chairman of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka, writes ucpb.org.

The politician has commented upon his own initiative the following way:

“Reasonability, necessity or, even more, effectiveness of such events seem ambiguous. Why should the majority of citizens pay for the whims and extravagance of those who remain the governing party? Such pompous events in crisis times resemble a feast in time of a plague. At least we should have the information about the sources and the scopes of financing and speak up our attitude to such kind of khurals.”
