The number of joint military exercises of the Russian paratroopers and the Special Operations Forces of the Belarusian Armed Forces has increased by one third this year.

Chief Commander of the Air Assault Forces General-Colonel Vladimir Shamanov has informed this to the journalists, Interfax.by reports.

"In 2015, we conducted 26 joint events by the efforts of the Special Operations Forces of the Belarusian Armed Forces, 14 of them were at the territory of Russia, and 12 – in Belarus. This year, the number of such events significantly grew – up to 38. It is planned to hold 20 of them in Russia and 18 – in Belarus,” – Shamanov has said.

He has underline that, currently, the exercises are held in accordance with the plan.

On Wednesday, the Russian delegation chaired by Shamanov arrived to Brest, where Commander of the Air Assault Forces and Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Belarusian Armed Forces General-Major Vadzim Dzenisenka discussed the joint brigade tactical training exercise, which is to take place in Brest this Autumn, and the joint exercise which will be held simultaneously in Russia – in Ryazan, at the base of Tula formation of the Air Assault Forces.

We remind, there were exercises with the Russian paratroopers who invaded Crimea and Donbass near Brest in early April this year.
