Homel Journalist Brutally Detained in Loyeu

Camera crew worked on the story about the state of the economy in Belarusians regions.

The work was interrupted by police officers who brutally detained a journalist who worked with Kanstantyn Zhukouski. Thus, there are suspicions that video equipment was spoiled while detention, Belsat reports.

Belsat.eu has been on to Mr. Zhukouski who is now in the police office. This is what he says:

"I do not know where my colleague is now, as well as my camera. I wrote it in book of recommendations and concerns. I was taken here to specify my data, although I had showed document, but did not resist. Then an unknown in plain clothes came and started asking questions. I wondered who he was. I was told that he was the deputy police chief of the Loyeu Regional Executive Committee. He asked me to turn off my voice recorder. I asked to show me the paragraph in the law and then turned off the recorder. Then he required to give him my cell phone. I asked to draw up search protocol.

Another reason for the protocol was such detention. I was brutally detained and then there was a need in ambulance, I suffer from high blood pressure.

He took a cell phone and put it on a table. I don't know what for. Perhaps, to show that he was a high-ranker there.

I'm in the ROVD. They all left and now I can make a call. I do not know what happened to Aliaksei."
