Activist keeps looking for his car, but can find no traces of it.

Public activist Yauhen Batura, whose car with white-red-white flags the police seized on June 23, cannot get an answer: where the car is now, what for it was arrested, and when it will be returned, Radio Svaboda informs.

On June 23, Yauhen Batura was detained without explanations in Independence Avenue opposite the Central Post Office, where the rally of solidarity with Eduard Palchys was being held.

Batura arrived to the rally by his car decorated with white-red-white flags. Traffic policemen stopped him, put him into a police car and took to the Maskouski district police department.

Then they stated that the car is registered as stolen, and seized the keys and the car.

Since that time Yauhen Batura has not been able to get an answer: where his car is and when it’ll be returned. The police explained that neither criminal nor administrative case had been initiated against him, and his car had been taken following the traffic policeman’s report, in which he allegedly “expressed suspicion about the authenticity of its chassis number,” – Yauhen Batura wrote on his Facebook page.

The car was distrained by the Maskouski district police department, the examination is carried out by the local police officer, whom the activist was advised to find on his own after being warned that the police officer “had no visiting hours”
