Author of Financial Diet gets sent to China as an Ambassador.

Kiryl Rudy has worked in Lukashenka’s Administration for three years and has been considered an adherent of liberal reforms. Several sources have informed to BelaPAN news agency that Kiryl Rudy is going to work in China as an Ambassador, and this information has been confirmed by the state authorities.

Kiryl Rudy was appointed as Lukashenka’s assistant on economic issues in June 2013.

“From the very beginning, Rudy had a vision that it was necessary to secure financial stability and he never supported unrestrained emission,” — the state authorities’ representative has commented to BelaPAN.

Observers underline that, for many years, there was an accent on fulfillment of plans and application of funds in Belarus, while Rudy was the first to raise an issue of effectiveness of usage thereof. “It was a new approach, new attitude towards the state finances. Kiryl Rudy attempted to look at this issue from another angle to increase effectiveness of usage of financial resources in the country,” — the interlocutor has said.

However, experts say that the Belarusian subjects of economy have not yet accustomed to live in the conditions of the financial diet, described by Lukashenka’s assistant in the eponymously-named book. “In the Soviet Union, they brought up plans, allocated money, the money got implemented and written off afterwards. And this very spirit, that everything will go the same old way, remains,” — a representative of financial circles thinks.

In Kiryl Rudy’s book Financial Diet, published in early 2016, the author points out that directive distribution of resources does not bring the wished-for financial and economic effect to the state. “Economy needs financial result (income, economic growth). It’s like the feeling of happiness. A person cannot live without this feeling for long, the same is with economy – it cannot survive for a long time without the financial result. Thus, if there is none, it is a signal to choose a new economic path,” — Rudy writes in the postlude.

Kiryl Rudy was born in 1978, graduated the Belarusian State Economic University (BSEU) in 2000. At 23, he defended a Ph.D. thesis on currency regulation. In 2002—2007 he worked as a deputy dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking at the BSEU. In 2007-2012, he served as an adviser on trade and economic issues of the Belarusian embassy in China. In 2012 - defended his doctoral thesis on the world economy and international finance. From June 2013 he worked as Lukashenka’s assistant on economic issues.
