KGB Head: “Servolux” And “Consul” Recompensing Damage Accounting For Multiplicity

KGB Head: “Servolux” And “Consul” Recompensing Damage Accounting For Multiplicity
VALERY VAKULCHYK

Vakulchyk has told this after his report to Lukashenka.

The companies “Servolux” and “Consul” are taking measures to recompense the damage accounting for multiplicity, the KGB head Valery Vakulchyk has informed on July 18 after he reported to Lukashenka, BelaPAN news agency informs with a reference to ONT TV-channel.

“It has also been reported about the recompensing of the damage in full scope not accounting for multiplicity with regard to the officials of “Servolux”, — Vakulchyk has added (recompensing the damage accounting for multiplicity gives grounds for release from criminal responsibility by the head of the state).

“As for the “Consul” company, everything is clear here. From the investigation’s point of view, the objective side has been proved. The work aimed at clarification of some other aspects of the case is still in progress. However, we do see that, on the assumption of the actions committed by persons-subjects of the criminal case, they are taking measures for recompensing the damage accounting for multiplicity,” — the KGB head has said.

We remind, on July 1 head of the KGB press-center Dzmitry Pabiarzhyn informed that CEO of the group of companies “Servolux” Yauhen Baskin had been released under a non-leave obligation. According to him, the businessman totally recompensed the incriminated damage. The date of changing the restraint, as well as the sum of the recompensed damage, were not revealed. This is all the information for the moment, the investigation goes on, the press-secretary added.

Baskin and several managers of the group of companies “Servolux” were detained on March 14, 2016 upon suspicion of tax evasion on an especially large scale. According to the information provided by the KGB, the damage that the investigation discovered for just one day was assessed as Br 370 billion. Baskin remained under guard after the arrest. On March 22, the KGB press-center informed that he had been transferred to house arrest “given the newly discovered evidence”.

Charter97.org informed earlier that 13 people, owners and employees of the company “Consul”, had been arrested last October.

Back in 2014, “Consul” CJSC acquired foodstuffs from a Dutch manufacturer for $ 2.5 mln and shipped them to Belarus via a controlled organization for $ 5 mln. As a result, the income of $ 2.5 mln was hidden from taxation. Later, the company sold the foodstuffs to Belarusian agricultural manufacturers with an up to 30% mark-on. The Department of Financial Investigations of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus assessed the damage caused as a result of the tax evasion, as $ 27.5 mln.
