Absurd charges are filed against potential participants of the action for new free elections.

Public activist from Lida Valery Mints has his vehicle seized, he is drawn up administrative protocol against for an attempt to participate in Minsk rally for free and fair elections.

Valery Mints was arrested on the outskirts of Lida on his way to Minsk in order to take part with his two companions in post-election street rally for new free and fair elections.

Radio Svaboda is informed that traffic police officers allegedly stopped him to check documents and then took three activists to the police station allegedly for identification, although they had passports. They spent there more than six hours; two of them were drawn up administrative protocols against. Valery Mints and Vitaly Ashuk were accused of "unauthorized mass event on August 11".

According to Valery Mints he drove the vehicle of his friend from Homel. At the same time in another part of Lida a car owned by his family was stopped, but at the moment a friend of Valery Mints drove it. As a result, both vehicles were detained by police officers because technical passports for vehicles were allegedly fancy and invalid.

Valery Mints said that the police officers which prevented them from participation in the campaign for free and fair elections acted in concert, and he intends to appeal against their actions.
