“They Took Ancient Old Women All But From Deathbed To Vote”

“Elections” in Miory – the way it happened.

A great number of violations were recorded by the observers in Miory district: coercion to voting, stuffing ballot boxes, breaking the secrecy of vote etc.

The UCP activist Siarhei Valiyeu observed the voting process in Miory at the voting station #30, located at the secondary school #3.

According to the observers, the total turnout made 44 %, the turnout at early voting being 18 %.

“I accompanied one of the three ballot boxes for home voting, - Siarhei Vasilyeu has told the website ucpb.org. – For the two hours, since 4 till 6 p.m., they pulled out only 22 votes! How come they got 500 votes with the two other ballot boxes! This is simply unreal!

I saw how they got those 22 votes – they took ancient old women all but from deathbed to vote. They were literally driving their hands over the ballot – the old women knew not a single name in it. Most of them said they had called no ballot box home, some tried to refuse from voting, but in vain.

All this severely violates the citizens’ right to free will expression and to secrecy of voting, - the observer is convinced.

Only 100 people voted at home at the neighboring precinct. Why is there such gap: 500 here and 100 there? It’s easy to explain – there were no independent observers there!

My neighbor, a juvenile prisoner of the concentration camp, now aged 88, refused to vote at home when they called her and offered such option. They still came and forced her to vote!

In Svetsina near Miory – there was our observer there – only 220 people out of 520 voted at the voting station. All the others allegedly did it at home.

In Padyeltsava precinct the chairman practically pointed with his finger whom to vote for. As for Paviattsia, where the turnout was 79 % – they paid the people salaries for two months, which they owed them, before the elections.

This was the “expression of the will” of the people in Miory. Doh.”
