Siarhei Skrabets: We Need To Believe And Live

All this will collapse soon, so there’s no trust to Lukashenka, it’s ridiculous to fear it, it’s meaningless to ask.

The former deputy of the “chamber of representatives” Siarhei Skrabets wrote about this at the website of Belaruski Partyzan.

There were more than 6000 polling stations during the last parliamentary “elections”. About 20 persons, mostly teachers of schools, secondary and higher education institutions, worked at each of those polling stations.

In total approximately 120 thousand persons have been participating in something that can be called a political farce for the last 20 years. In fact, they are the main keepers of the current regime. So, it turns out that they like their miserable salaries and the guaranteed poverty for them and for their children. I respect their position expressed in many different ways at different stages of the election. So I congratulate my opponent on another victory of poverty over the mind.

The voters should better not count on the help of a “deputy”, who was, figuratively speaking, appointed by the authorities. An “appointed deputy” won’t defend your interests in the Parliament. First of all, he will be giving thanks the power and defend the interests of the authorities, his second priority will be his selfish interests, and only then, if there still some time and conscience remained, he may pay his attention to you.

So, don’t indulge in illusions, my friends. I personally did not choose this power, you cannot believe it, it’s ridiculous to fear it, it’s meaningless to ask for anything.

And I want to say to everyone: do not believe, do not fear, do not ask.

It’s necessary to hope.

The World is changing rapidly in the XXI century no matter how the conservatives, entrenched in the leadership of our country, fought back the changes. And it is changing for the better: the victims are no longer treated as guilty, centuries-old structures built on violence are in dire straits. No need to hide the violence for the sake of “beautiful” school, “miraculous” churches, authoritarian regimes, etc. Violence generates violence, and nothing more. All this will collapse by itself without any efforts taken. We only need to believe and live.
