Interior Ministry’s Ex-Head Naumau Prompts Idea Of Front Company To Subotkin

The witnesses’ testimonies will become the key intrigue at a trial against Maksim Subotkin.

According to the experts, questioning of witnesses will become the most intriguing period in the court trial over the criminal case of ex-CEO of the Dynama Minsk HC Maksim Subotkin. Subotkin is charged with committing crimes under Part 4 Article 210 (embezzlement through abuse of office), Part 3 Article 424 (abuse of power), Part 3 Article 426 (abuse of power or authority) of the Criminal Code.

Naumau’s idea

The court has been questioning the witnesses for only a week, but the people like the daughter of the former Interior Minister General-Lieutenant Uladzimir Naumau, ex-TV host Siarhei Kukhto and former CEO of “Marketing Dynama HC” Maksim Tsynhaliou already appeared in the court hall.

Siarhei Kukhto, in particular, has told that the idea of creating the “Arena-Media”, Subotkin’s front company, belonged to the former Interior Minister of Belarus, ex-head of the Ice Hockey Federation Uladzimir Naumau.

They are waiting for Berazhkou, but he won’t appear

They are also expecting former top-manager of the Dynama Minsk HC Uladzimir Berazhkou to appear in court. He is listed as a witness in the case.

According to the charges made, the illegal actions of Subotkin and Berazhkou caused material damage for the sum of more than Br 3 billion to the club. The damage was repaid in full scope. Subotkin returned Br 2,3 billion. However, the criminal case against him wasn’t terminated, unlike Berazhkou. Subotkin plead innocent and didn’t ask for pardon, unlike Berazhkou.

Marketing Director of the Association “Belarusian Football Federation” Uladzimir Berazhkou exercised his right not to incriminate himself and refused to testify in the case. The judge decided to read the testimony previously given by Berazhkou, tut.by reports.

The dummy scout-bard

It remains unknown whether famous Russian hockey scout Leonid Sagyndykov will appear in the courtroom. Sagyndykov and Berazhkou have known each other since childhood, they played together in “Yunost” Minsk .

The prosecutor has said during the very first court session that Subotkin entered a criminal conspiracy with Uladzimir Berazhkou and provided fictitious job to his friend Sagyndykov, taking the money listed for his fictitious contracts, trips, bonuses, and so on, more than Br 1,2 billion, all for himself.

The well-known in the narrow circles Russian bard Sagyndykov was questioned in the Investigatory Committee of Belarus during the preliminary investigation. The Belarusian media even published the information about his arrest, but it was not confirmed.

Open sources claim that Sagyndykov hastily left Belarus after the interrogation in the Investigatory Committee.
