Who`ll Be Held Responsible for Disappearances? 11:11, 02/04/2001, ZUBR
Saturday March 31 at 11-12 o`clock Slonim youth members of the ZUBR movement staged their action, dedicated to the missing people, right on the town`s central marketplace. The picketers raised portraits of the famous oppositionists, presently held incommunicado: Yuri Zakharenko, Viktor Gonchar, Anatoly Krasovsky, Dmitry Zavadsky. They disseminated flyers "WHO`LL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DISAPPEARANCES?", containing calls on the opposite side of the sheet: "Think! Determine! Act! Be a ZUBR!".
Over a few days the whole downtown was covered with graffiti "Where`s Zakharenko?", "Where`s Gonchar?", "Where`s Zavadsky?". Leaflets with data and questions about the location and destiny of the missing ones have also been circulated in the educational institutions of Slonim.
Slonim is yet another town, where ZUBR reminded its inhabitants about the alarming disappearance phenomenon. Previously they did just the same in Minsk, Vitebsk and Borisov. Flyers about this issue were scattered in the theatres of Minsk, Grodno, Mogilev, country`s leading universities and colleges. A few hundred thousand special issues of the newspaper "Nasha Svaboda" "Who`ll be held responsible for mass disappearances?" were passed out among the citizens of Belarus.
