Criminal proceedings under art.209/3 (fraud) were instigated with regard to the head of the economic department of the Brest affiliate of the Belvnesheconombank. According to the law-enforcement bodies, the lady, fooling the bank`s clients, got hold of huge amounts of money both in rubles and hard currency.
Like she borrowed from the bank`s chief economist in 1998 $12 thousand and 1mln. BLR, from accountant - $3500, from main specialist of the Leninsky district administration - $10 thousand.
This year she borrowed another $3500 from the bank`s accountant. So far we have no clue to how many people were deceived and what was the total sum involved. It is yet to be clarified for what purpose she needed the monies.
The investigation procedures are led by the department for economic criminality of the Leninsky district of Brest.
