UCP Poses Question "Where Are Zakharenko, Gonchar and the Rest? :: Charter'97 :: News

United Civil Party is intended to keep reminding folks about still unaccounted for Yuri Zakharenko, Viktor Gonchar, Anatoly Krasovsky and Dmitry Zavadsky. They will hold pickets in 30 places under the motto "We want to know the truth!" said during the May 2 press-conference UCP chairman Anatoly Lebedko.

It`s worth mention that the rallies, dedicated to the missing oppositionists, have been held during the last two months throughout the country by ZUBR guys and other youth groups. In the first decade of May UCP intends to carry out 30 pickets reminding people everywhere about the desperate plight of the kidnapped.

The activists will picket Belarusian representations abroad likewise. The party members will meet with the families of the victims of abductions, run a rally "Live chain" with hopefully thousands Minsk residents taking to the streets with the portraits of Gonchar, Zakharenko, Karpenko, Klimov and other prominent Belarusian politicians.

According to the pollsters, 20% Belarusians are pretty much aware of the disappearance tragedies, 70% of them holding the authorities responsible for the crime.
