Lukashenko’s and Aleksij’s arrival to Brest brought numerous problems to local residents. On June 23 the traffic in Brest streets was regularly blocked. They divided the city into two isolated parts and no one could get from one into another. June 24, with the escort heading for Pinsk, on the Kobrin-Gomel motorway police placed their patrols, which didn’t allow people to get to the main highway from the adjacent roads. In the vicinity of Drogichin the cars were stopped at intersections, not allowed to move further into to Brest.

According to official data by January 1, 1994 66,3 thousands were registered at the state bureau for employment. In 2001 their number exceeded 100 thousand, which is 1,5 times rise or more.

Insolvency Rocks Novopolotsk Companies

Lukashenko Has Grudge Against Masherova and Marinich

Alexander Lukashenko doesn’t welcome the intentions of Natalya Masherova and Mikhail Marinich to run for the president. “I fostered them with my our arms, visited them, helped and supported,” – Lukashenko’s voice sounded offended: “Masherova’s family was forsaken, nobody went there. Remember, after the presidential elections I visited them and always supported. I did so much to get this person elected into the parliament and now they stab me in the back.”

Salary Debt Rose to 12bln BLR

By early June the salary indebtedness in Belarus reached 11,9 billion rubles (8,7mln US dollars). According to the Ministry of statistics and analysis, it is 39,5% more than in early May. The greatest debt hit the agricultural sphere, as it has always been the case. In May it leaped by 37,5% and now amounts to 8,4bln rubles, which is 70,6% of the overall debt. 188,7 thousand persons failed to get their monies in full size. The industrial companies owe their employees 2,5bln rubles. The salary growth occurred in all regions, except Vitebsk and Minsk.

New Russian Radar Station Appears in Belarus

In the next 1,5 years Russia will install the new radar station near Baranovichi town for surveillance over air and space in Belarus, reports SPB-TASS. The news agency cites the commander-in-chief of the space troops, colonel-general Anatoly Perminov, who announced the news at the recent round table in Petersburg.
