В этот день, ровно год назад, несчастье постигло одну из семей Беларуси – бесследно исчез Дима Завадский. Ему не было и 28 лет. Нельзя не понять трагедию матери и жены, которые получили страшную весть о том, что Дима не вернулся домой. Не вернулся и через день, и через неделю, и через год. Нет его, нет нигде. И нет той дороги, которая привела бы к нему. Не видно ее за потоками слез, застилающими глаза. Сердце женщины, родительское сердце не может мириться с этим. Не может кричать от безысходной боли.

Lawers from organization “Legal relief to population” Igor Goyshun, Oleg Strizhenok, Oleg Markovsky were arrested at noon near the building of KGB. They were carring out picketing on anniversary of Dmitry Zavadsky disappearing. Participants of action were holding placard: “Where are they? Zaharenko, Gonchar, Krasovsky, Zavadsky”. About half an hour policemen were warning them that the miting is not sanctioned, but people continued to stay. Than a police car arrived and lawers were arrested and taken to police station.

State printing-house “Belarusian house of printing”, in which independent newspaper “Day” is printed refused to print the last issue of newspaper. Formal reason is that redaction didn’t let know beforehead about increasing of circulation of this issue up to 50 000 copies. The decision to increase the circulation was taken because of interview of Ivan Titenkov. In it he tells about about trade with weapon profit of which comes to personal fund of Lukashenko, and about privy of authorities to kidnappings of famous people.

Demand to find PRT operator Dmitry Zavadsky, who disappeared a year ago on July 7 2000, was given to general public prosecutor Victor Sheiman by 40 belarusian journalists that gathered near building of General public prosecution. People dressed in T-shirts with portrait of Dmitry Zavadsky were declaiming loudly: “Where is Zavadsky?” For long time journalists didn’t react on journalists’ actions. Than chairman of Belarusian association of journalists Zhanna Litvina was let to come in. There she handed to press-secretary of public prosecution Alexey Taranov about 300 signatures of journalists demanding Victor Sheiman to answer the question: “Where is our colegue Dmitry Zavadsky?”

More than 40 belarusian journalists gathered at the entrance to Ministry of inner affairs. They were dressed in T-shirts with Zavadsky’s Portrait and were declaiming unpleasant for authorities questions: “Where is Zavadsky?” “Where is Gonchar?” “Where is Krasovsky?” “Where is Zaharenko?”. Vice head of department of information and public relations of Ministry of inner affairs Vitaly Grinkevich came out to journalists. They handed hem about 300 signatures under demand to Vladimir Naumov to answer question: “Where is our colegue Dmitry Zavadsky?”
After that journalists headed to building of General public prosecution.

Journalist Dmitry Zavadsky was kidnapped in Minsk on July 7 2000. Today none doubts that kidnapping was organized by ruling regime with the goal to threat belarusian citizens. Members of elite special unit whose vocation is to fight with terrorism are accused of commitment of this crime. “Squadron of death” carried out both kidnappings of famous people and other crimes with goal of profit. This people were supported by those who rules the state until now. Tears and pain of mothers and wifes of people who disappeared will become damnation on them. They will never be forgiven. More than 70% of belarusian people know about political kidnappings, more than half of them accuse authorities of them.

Belarusian association of journalists carries out an action of protest dedicated to one year anniversary of Dmitry Zavadsky kidnapping near building of Ministry of inner affairs today at 11 o’clock. BAJ was trying to organize press-conference about Zavadsky’s case with minister of inner affairs Naumov for some days. But minister refused. And no wonder: Naumov was a commander of special unit “Almaz” whose members are accused of kidnapping of Zavadsky. Visitors of our site will be the first who will get information about this picketing – we are planning to give information about it from the building of Ministry of inner affairs.

Mayor of German town Eslingen-on-Nekare Yurgen Ziger sent a letter to president of Russia Vladimir Putin. Mayor asks him to “use political influence which exists in frames of union with Balarus” to investigate cases of disappearing of belarusian politicians including Victor Gonchar. Zinaida Gonchar, who recived copy of this letter informed BelaPAN about it.

Was carried out in Minsk on July 6. More than ten activists of united civil party and “USP youth”. The action was carrird out since 12 till 1 p. m. near “McDonald’s” restaurant on the crossroads of Skoryna avenue and Lenin street.

Appeal to belarusian people from 11 candidates, movement “New Belarus”, political parties and some public organizations was announced on July 7. Authors of the document declare coordination of their actions in pre-election race and announce that they are going to win it and defend the results of the elections in the streets.
