International Commission For Investigation Of Politicians’ Abductions Is Formed
11:05, 01/08/2001

Vladimir Goncharik, the single candidate for presidential post from the wide civil coalition affirmed that an international commission for the investigation of abductions of Lukashenko’s political opponents: Yuri Zakharenko, Viktor Gonchar, Dmitry Zavadsky and Anatoly Krasovsky, and activities of Belarusian “death squad” is being formed. The single candidate informed than independent experts from Russia, the USA and other countries would join the commission.

Goncharik received no answer from the presidential Administration, where he had delivered the documents, about the authorities’ involvement and possibility of “death squad” existence. He called this silence “at the minimum ambiguous” and said that it makes evident that authorities are reluctant to investigate the cases.

In his interview to Radio “Racyja” Vladimir Goncharik said that there is a probability that in soon new documents and even live witnesses of the authorities involvement in the abductions emerge.
