NEWS  Ongoing Sophistication of MiG-29 Fighters in Belarus 11:01, 16/08/2001 At the plane-repairing plant in Baranovichi Russian specialists help modernizing first two MiG-29 fighters, pertaining to the Belarusian army. Alexander Lukashenko ordered to get first four jets in full combat readiness, having already earmarked means for the purpose. The problem, stressed the commander, is that no other country in the world owns the modernized version of this supersonic jet, as far as the sophistication technologies are still being developed. As for the modernization as such, it is quite substantial.
