NEWS  “Combat Unity-2001” Training Opening 11:01, 21/08/2001 Commander-in-chief of the Russian marine fleet Vladimir Kuroedov, who just arrived in Kaliningrad, will observe on August 21 the debarkation ashore of the Baltic marine corps and landing of air borne paratroopers. The military exercise will take place on the seashore at the Khmelevka shooting ground near Baltiysk, commanders of the Baltic fleet are quoted as saying. Same day the Kaliningrad region will be visited by the Russian air defense chief commander Anatoly Kronukov and Belarusian Defense Minister lieutenant-general Leonid Maltsev. The military brass will be present at the “Combat unity-2001” training, due to commence on August 22.
