Leader of the Gomel electoral headquarters of the unique democratic candidate Vladimir Goncharik Ruslan Belanov was summoned to the regional Committee for financial investigation. August 17 Belanov ran into two plain-clothed agents inside his office, although he personally locked the doors when he left the other day. The visitors didn’t explain what they were doing there but told Belanov to appear Monday morning in the local Committee for financial investiagtion.
Having received no summons over the weekend Belanov decided to stay at home. But they brought him subpoena right to his house, so Belanov had no choice.
BelaPAN was told by Ruslan Belanov that the investigator inquired about the origin of his mobile phone, the amount of money he earns and who pays office rent. The questions were part of the criminal case, initiated by the local KGB department for covering building walls with cynic inscriptions (art.341 of the Criminal Code). According to Belanov, he wrote explanatory note on these issues and never signed any document.
