Syamon Domash Set to Agitate for Unique Candidate Today 11:09, 21/08/2001 “Dear friends! My greatest desire for all of you, who’s watching this program as it proceeds, is to realize that we aren’t opposition, but just same people, even as you are. Today Lukashenko placed himself in opposition to the Belarusian nation, which is thirsting for better life. And I’m convinced that on September 9 you, my countrymen, will endorse my words by casting your votes for a unique candidate from wide public coalition Vladimir Goncharik. Right now many of you are ready and willing to vote for me. And I’m grateful to you for that. But for the sake of our common victory it is necessary that you vote for Goncharik Vladimir Ivanovich. Under the preliminary signed agreement in case of our victory I will lead the government. It wasn’t just portfolio that attracted me so much. But rather my decisiveness to do what I promised. We have a capable team for the purpose and what I just voiced is but a part of our common platform. I’m addressing those of you, who haven’t made their choice yet. By voting for Goncharik, you vote for Domash. You vote for yourself and for Belarus. I am urging the people of younger age to vote for the unique candidate. Only in this case you, who hold the country’s destiny in their hands, will be able to make your own lives better. I am pleading with elderly people to vote for it too. Welfare in old age is still better than poverty. I am asking women to vote for it, for the well-being of your family costs more than just miserable crumbs, which they throw to you now. I’m calling on law-enforcers and soldiers to vote for it. If you do, you will never be ashamed because you beat up your brothers, children and fathers. I’m asking the business people to vote for it, because only in this case will the entrepreneurship survive. I’m urging all statesmen and state servants to vote for it. Those of you, who never violated laws have nothing to fear. I promise you – your professionalism and experience will be claimed by the new authorities. I am asking all those of you who disagree with what I’m saying, because only in this case will you be able to share your discontent in public, not being afraid that they will gag you. I’m even calling on Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko to vote for it, for it will be extremely hard being alone otherwise. I thank you all that on September 9 you will make the right choice and finally we will build our common home – Belarus.”
