9 US Assistance Programs Endorsed by Belarus Cabinet 11:10, 21/08/2001
The Cabinet of Ministers of Belarus passed a document “On the approval of the US charity aid, provided to the Republic of Belarus”. The document has been elaborated in conformity with the agreement of USA and Belarus on the facilitation of supplying monetary assistance, signed by the parties in Minsk on July 18, 1996, reports BelaPAN. By so doing the Cabinet defined the list of North-American programs, which may function in Belarus.
These are the projects, whose activities are oriented at assisting state organizations and NGOs, farmers and agricultural companies, private companies and entrepreneurs, mass media. The list is composed of nine programs – “Volunteers in agricultural business”, “Counterpart”, “Small and middle business development”. “Internews network”, “Irex Promedia”, “Initiative on social activity and renewal in Eurasia” and the program of the Entrepreneurship foundation for newly independent states.
