“Those Who Care” Dissenters to Stand Justice in Soligorsk 11:13, 21/08/2001
Soligorsk police apprehended participants of the “Want to know the truth!” campaign. A chain of some 40 people, raising portraits of the missing and deceased oppositionists made it in the central town for less than 20 minutes. After the rally had been detected by cops, they immediately dispersed it, detaining eight activists, two being underage.
All the detainees faced police protocols, whereas the adults were handed in subpoenas to stand trial on August 22-23. On the initial day of hearings the jury will consider the cases of Kortkhih, Strushko and Tsizhik, while on Thursday August 23, 2001 – those of Nesanovich and Molochko.
They will sue Larisa Nesanovich, whom they never caught at the action. The lady chairs the local United Civil Party affiliate, which initiated the event.
