Belarusian authorities banished from the country US citizen Robert Filding for activities that were defined as “interference into the republic’s internal affairs”, Belarusian TV reported on Sunday with a reference to the KGB source. Filding is barred from entering Belarus for the next five years. KGB also warned that “any attempts of foreigners to interfere into the interior affairs of Belarus, regardless of their status, would be cut short, even entailing the enforced deportation from the country”.
Staffer of one of the US trade union centers was found guilty of an open agitation for the unique candidate Vladimir Goncharik. According to KGB, Filding has allegedly publicly declared that West does not recognize the legitimacy of the current Belarusian government and also “coordinated the preparatory activities of opposition in order to get the desired result of the presidential elections”.
Vladimir Goncharik called it all provocation. The unique candidate underscored that he never pleaded with any trade union organization, be it international or domestic, to agitate for him. He added that he had never met with Mr.Filding.
