Metro Station “Mogilyovskaya Not Ready For Belarusian Leader’s Birthday 11:11, 27/08/2001
On August 24 in Minsk “Mogilyovskaya” Metro station was to be launched. It was expected that Lukashenko would grace with his presence the event. But it happened so that at this time he inspected the durability of the bridge across the Berezina river. The underground workers and the corresponding services did not dare to take responsibility to sign the documents on formal acceptance of the construction themselves. Lukashenko visited “Mogilyovskaya” station in spring and promised the Minsk citizens to open it on August 24. The builders were in a hurry to report about successful completion of the work. The unfinished station was prepared to the ceremony. The wash stands are not installed in the rooms for personnel, only a half of the ventilation equipment is certified, some rooms with high humidity have covered with mould. Some defects are dangerous for passengers. All the flaws are to be corrected after the ceremonial launching of the station.
