Kids of Repressed Politicians Address Belarusian Youth :: Charter'97 :: News

Children of the repressed Belarusian oppositionists addressed with an open letter the Belarusian youth. Part of the missive is forwarded to the children of Lukashenko, Sheiman, Sivakov and Pavlichenko. “Our parents are well-known Belarusians. They don’t lie nor do they have blood on their hands. We are proud of our parents. How about you? What did you inherit? Hatred of people? But you’re also responsible for the acts of your parents. The children can influence their parents,” – write the children of the disappeared and deceased opposition members to the sons and daughters of implicated state officials.

The open letter was posted to the Belarusian media. Dmitry and Tatyana Karpenko, Elena and Julia Zakharenko, Stanislav and Ksenia Klimova, Elena and Valeriya Krasovskaya address those who are of the same age with them. They urge the young people to think it over one more time and recall the past 7 years in order to imagine what the life will be given the regime retains power.
