Chair of the political council of the party “The Union of right forces” Boris Nemtsov forwarded yesterday an official telegram to the unique candidate from wide public coalition Vladimir Goncharik, in which he expressed solidarity with the unique candidate’s efforts to unseat Lukashenko.
“Dear Vladimir Ivanovich! On behalf of all Russian democrats let me express to you my sincere support in your run for the presidency of Belarus. Taking into consideration a complex political situation in your country, one must give credit to the personal valor, which you needed in order to openly challenge the incumbent president. We welcome you as the unifier of opposition’s efforts, aimed at the democratization of the Belarusian society.
We’d like to hope that presidential elections will be carried out in compliance with all basic norms of democratic procedures and their result will depend solely on the will of the Belarusian nation. I’m convinced that in the event of your victory the relations between the public democratic organizations of Russia and Belarus, as well as among our people, will not only strengthen but reach the new qualitative level.
