Minsk Visited by Russian Defense Companies 11:10, 14/11/2001
Alexander Lukashenko met today with the director general of the federal state company “Rosoboronexport” Andrei Belyaninov and executive secretary of the Russian-Belarusian financial industrial group “Defensive systems” Sergei Batekhin. In course of their Minsk visit the delegation from these two institutions will rendezvous with the Belarusian military brass and the state secretary of the Security Council Gennady Nevyglas.
The Interstate financial industrial group “Defensive systems” has been set up on the basis of the Russian group with the analogous name in compliance with the accord, signed between the governments of Russia and Belarus on February 11, 2000.
RIA “Novosti” was told by the advisor to the director general of the “Defensive systems” Igor Meschanin that at the moment theirs is the only interstate financial industrial group, whose activities are based on the real cooperation between Russian and Belarusian enterprises within the framework of the manufacture and modernization of air-defense weaponry.
