In Brest Region Cheap Alcoholic Drinks Sales Volume Increased 11:02, 16/11/2001
According to the information of the regional Statistic agency, during the nine months of 2001 alcoholic drinks were sold for the sum of 79,1 billion roubles. It is by 11,6 per cent more than for the same period of 2000 (in comparable prices). While sales volume of vodka and hard drinks dropped by 6,2 per cent, consumption of cheap native wines increased.
The proportional value of alcoholic drinks in the turnover of retail trade is 15, 7 per cent. In addition to alcohol, more fish and seafood are sold (by 63,1 per sent). Canned fish increased by 50,8 per cent. Tea sales volume dropped by 29 per cent, canned meat by 11,6 per cent. In the comparison with the last year the sales of such goods as bicycle, washing machines and refrigerators dwindled.
