Minsk regional court (chairman Genadz Komel) pronounced that the resolution of the city meeting on January 11 in Salihorsk was unlawful. Under the resolution a preventive strike on February 1 at manufacturing complex Belaruskalij was to be held. The court found it necessary to implement its ruling immediately.

This year in May a second national TV channel is to start broadcasting. In contrast with the first, state channel, the state will own 51% of shares of the second channel. Other shares are to be bought by shareholders. At the moment there is only TV channel that can be seen all over the country. That is why the West talks about monopolization of electronic mass media by the authorities.
