NEWS  FIFA Referee Took Over BATE FC Director Post On Release From Jail 11:08, 06/02/2002 Notorious FIFA referee from Belarus Gennady Yakubovsky, who had been released from custody last month, decided to finish his referee’s career and became a technical director of the soccer club BATE (Borisov) – last national championship’s bronze medallist. As you remember, Yakubovsky had been arrested on grounds of large-scale embezzlement. The jury sentenced him to 2-year prison term.
