Young Front leader Pavel Severinets will stand justice before the Sovietsky district court of Minsk for running a youth protest on the St.Valentine’s Day eve, held, contrary to the authorities’ permission, in the Minsk main prospect. Pavel may now receive a few days of jail in the Okrestina confinement center.
Administrative cases of other detainees of the St.Valentine’s rally were considered yesterday by the same court. In particular, before the court there stood Sergei Gerasimovich, Dmitry Dashkevich, Andrei Kozlov and Vassily Parfenkov. Court hearings of Andrei Kozlov’s and Dmitry Dashkevich’s cases were put off to February 19 as far as the police witnesses didn’t show up in the courtroom at an appointed time. Vassily Parfenkov’s case files were forwarded into the Sovietsky police station of Minsk, so that the law-enforcers rewrite the original protocol. Taking into consideration the fact that Vassily had been punished in November for protecting Kuropaty, the law-enforcers must have drawn the protocol under article 167/2 of the Administrative code, envisaging a harsher sentence.
