Minimal Wage Increase on March 1 11:01, 01/03/2002
On March 1Belarus will see a rise in the minimal salary from 10 to 17 thousand rubles. The concomitant decision was passed by the Cabinet of Ministers. The document also establishes an hourly minimal wage – 101 rubles.
Re-calculation of pensions, stipends and other mandatory social payments, as well as taxes, fares and fines will be carried out since March 1 on the basis of the new minimal salary rate.
Raising the salary to the level of 17 thousand draws it closer to the tariff rate of the first category of workers, as well as increases its ratio with the social norms (living wage budget, minimum consumer’s budget).
