A parliamentary election in Ukraine has been recognized. At 6 a.m., according to the results of the parallel count of the votes, that has been carried out by the electoral bloc of Viktor Yuschenko “Nasha Ukraina” (“Our Ukraine”), 803 thousand electors, or 27.06% of the whole number of electorate, voted for “Nasha Ukraina”. The bloc of the authorities, “For united Ukraine”, had 224 thousand supporters, or 7.55%. These figures, as UNIAN informs, were announced by the coordinator of the bloc “Nasha Ukraina” Roman Bessmertny at today’s press conference. Bessmertny said that the system of the parallel vote count has demonstrated the real results of the election. As said by him, by 6 a.m. 2 million 224 thousand ballot papers have been checked, or about 13.38% of the whole quantity.
Bessmertny also informed that in the Crimea 14.59% voters have supported “Our Ukraine”, in Vinnitsa region - 29.7%, in Volyn region – 57.21%, in Dnepropetrosk region – 7%, in Donetsk – 14.26%, in Zhytomir region – 24.55%, in Zaporozhje region – 3.51%, in Ivano-Frankovsk region – by 75.07%, in Kyiv region – by 26.14%, in Kirovorad region – by 15.23%, in Lvov region – no information, in Zakarpatsie – no information, in Nikolaev region – 5.75%, in Odessa region – 31.68%, in Poltava region – 20.54%, in Rovno region – 40.93%, in Sumy region – no information, in Ternopol region – 76.92%, in Kharkiv region – 5.4%, Kherson region – 18.88%, in Cherkassy region – 27.4%, in Chernovtsy region – 38.52%, in cluding Kyiv (24.63%).
The representatives of “Our Ukraine” plan to process the data from all 33 thousands polling stations. However, as said by him, the representatives of Yuschenko bloc cannot note down information at the closed polling stations and polling stations situated abroad. According to Bessmertny’s information, the number of voters who voted at closed polling stations, was equal to 250 thousand people, and abroad – about 40 thousand people.
Bessmertny also informed that a number of serious violations of the election process were observed in Rokitniansky district of Kyiv region. The whole night the headquarters of “Our Ukraine” has been receiving complaints about a clash at the polling stations between law enforcing agencies and monitors.
According to “Our Ukraine”, most of the violations were recorded in Donetsk region. In this region at the polling station number 2 of the constituency # 54 a ballot paper was found, where the bloc “Our Ukraine” was marked as “quitted”.
Bessmertny underlined that in case “Our Ukraine” representatives would think that such actions have affected the results of the election, they would demand reconsideration of election’s results in these constituencies.
The official vote count has different figures. The Central Election Committee head Mikhail Ryabets stated that the Communist party won 19.9% of votes, Viktor Yuschenko bloc “Our Ukraine” – 19.6%. They are followed by the bloc “For united Ukraine” – about 17%, the Socialist party of Ukraine as won about 8%, Yulia Timoshenko bloc – Social Democratic party of Ukraine – about 5.5 %. Other parties and blocs could not manage to exceed the 4 % barrier.
At the moment about one forth part of the ballot papers have been counted. In any case, we can congratulate with victory the bloc “Our Ukraine”, as well as Yulia Timoshenko bloc, who represented democratic powers at this election.
