Trade Turnover Between Belarus, Russia in Decline 11:11, 01/04/2002, RBK
In January 2002 the trade turnover between Russia and Belarus constituted $620,1mln and fell, as compared with January 2001, by 2,4%, reports the State Committee for Statistics. Meantime, the export constituted $360,9mln (reduced by 2,5%), import – $259,2mln (fell by 2,2%), while the trade turnover balance reached $101,7mln.
The backbone of the Russian export into Belarus is formed by the raw materials and minerals (46,8%): raw oil, natural gas and black metals. Over 37% of the total volume of export stands for the cars and transport vehicles, chemicals, non-precious metals (except for the black), foodstuffs and agricultural raw materials.
Russian import to Belarus is dominated by vehicles and trucks (76,7%), textile, footwear and chemical products.
