Lukashenka Demands to Step Up Supervision Over Directors Of All Levels

Yesterday the Prosecutor General Viktar Sheiman made a report to Lukashenka on the draft of a state program on intensification of struggle with corruption and bribery. He also reported on the results of a board on problems of effectiveness of detecting the facts of corruption in the customs offices and bodies of executive power by the Interior Ministry, the KGB, the Committee of State Control and the Department of Financial Investigation. The head of state demanded the Prosecutor General to increase the control over the legality of actions of the director of all levels, to force offenders to pay material compensation for losses caused by negligence, embezzlement of credit and budget money.

In the course of checking in 30 town executive committees, it was found out that a number of top officials of administrations of Homel, Ashmyany, Vilejka, Orsha, Brest, Pinsk executive committees told wrong or incomplete information in their declaration of income and property, in particular about privatized flats and personal cars.

The head of state ordered to impose greater control over keeping to legislation by the top officials of the executive bodies, to prevent abuses of power and office resolutely.

Lukashenka also was informed about the results of an inspection by the republican public prosecutor’s office in Baranavichy, Babruisk and Maladzechna city Departments of the Interior Affairs in the sections of recording appeals and reports on crimes. It was found out that 329 crimes were not recorded, including 44 lootings, 8 robberies, and 133 thefts. The criminal actions were brought up against officials who failed to perform their duties.
