18 deputies of the Lithuanian Sojm announced the formation of a special deputies’ group on the relations with the 13th Supreme Soviet, Belarusian journalists were told by one of the initiators of the group’s creation, member of the opposition conservative faction Rasa Yuknevichene. In her opinion, “this group will act as an intermediary between Belarus and democratic Europe”.
Yesterday evening the road workers at the Minsk beltway traversed the memorial’s boundary and launched their excavations opposite the Cross of travail. Belarus can nominate its own candidate for the president of the joint Russian-Belarusian company “Slavneft”. “Should Russia propose her candidacy we, in response, will propose ours as well,” – Interfax quotes member of the “Slavneft’s” directorate, president of the Belarusian state concern “Belneftehim” Ivan Bambiza.
