As stressed at the briefing by the Belarus’ Foreign Ministry press-secretary Pavel Latushko, on April 22-26 the Belarusian delegation, led by the deputy head of the presidential administration Leonid Kozik, will visit Iraq. Special envoy for issues, relating to the cooperation between OSCE and Belarus, Ebergard Haiken told the “Y.S.News” correspondent that he received this title on March 8. For more than a month they didn’t hasten to make news this public, hoping to reach a compromise with the Belarusian authorities. However, the OSCE’s patience came to an end after they almost banished from the territory of Belarus the acting head of OSCE group in Minsk Michele Rivolier. At the special session of the OSCE Political Council in Vienna on April 16 Haiken for the first time acted in new capacity, rather than as a candidate for the head of the group.

18 deputies of the Lithuanian Sojm announced the formation of a special deputies’ group on the relations with the 13th Supreme Soviet, Belarusian journalists were told by one of the initiators of the group’s creation, member of the opposition conservative faction Rasa Yuknevichene. In her opinion, “this group will act as an intermediary between Belarus and democratic Europe”.

Yesterday evening the road workers at the Minsk beltway traversed the memorial’s boundary and launched their excavations opposite the Cross of travail. The workers claimed that they had to dig a pit there. The law-enforcers from the Sovietsky police station of Minsk silently watched how the workers destroyed the memorial ground. Their excavator left the place only after there appeared first public activists and foreign diplomats.

Two court processes passed in Belarus at the same time and they both were connected with the former RNU fascist organisation. One of them – the court trial of “Ignatovich group” – was organised in the Mensk regional court. It’s close to its final already and the court verdict will be sentenced during the following two weeks. Ignatovich is threatened with shooting off. The second court trial passed in the city court. Two former RNU members, who have been accused of murder of their comrade were judged there. According to this reason and taking into consideration the public response of these cases, the RECHA editorial staff decided to organise its personnel investigation in the activity of mentioned organisation. We managed to find out several former RNU members who agreed to give certain information (on the condition of their anonymous state).

Belarus can nominate its own candidate for the president of the joint Russian-Belarusian company “Slavneft”. “Should Russia propose her candidacy we, in response, will propose ours as well,” – Interfax quotes member of the “Slavneft’s” directorate, president of the Belarusian state concern “Belneftehim” Ivan Bambiza. According to the company’s statute, “we have the right for that”, explained Bambiza.
