Commercial Banks to Fund Sowing Campaign Again 11:16, 19/04/2002
For today the banks of Belarus have already given credits for 13.5 billion roubles to the agricultural enterprises for carrying out spring sowing campaign. It was reported on April 17 at the press conference in Minsk by the chairman of the direction of the National Bank Poitr Prakapovich.
According to the chief banker until June 1 commercial banks MUST give credits equal to 70 million roubles, but it is a “reccomendation”, and the process of issuing credits goes “naturally”, informs “BDG” with reference to BelaPAN.
Only Prakapovich himself knows what difference it makes, as the scheme of the extorting credits remains the same. However regardless of the facts Prakapovich tells that the practice of forcing banks to give money is not used.
