Strike at the open joint stock company “Orsha” was launched by the employees of two workshops, as well as the members of the Free trade union. The lawyer of the FTU Oleg Grablevsky says that the strike is merely a warning: by so doing the workers demand from the administration certain guarantees for the timely payment of wages, reports Radio Svaboda.
However, the company still remains unprofitable, having no market for selling its commodity. And it is no secret in itself that the “Orsha Ltd.” administration plans to stop the manufacture process on May 1-15, as far as the produced goods – sewing machines and other light industry products – enjoy extremely low demand.
Before going on forced unpaid holiday leaves the people want to make sure they get the earned money. Today the strike gathered 300 people, mostly females.
