Graffiti «STOP LUKA» By Belarusian Embassy In Warsaw 11:10, 25/04/2002
A huge three-meter-high writing “Stop Luka” in white paint has appeared on the sidewalk in front of the Belarusian embassy in Warsaw last night. Its authors say that they have made it as a sign of solidarity with the people who were imprisoned for their part in the Protest March “Can’t Live Like That Anymore!”.
Radio Svaboda managed to find one of the authors of the graffiti, an activist of the youth movement ZUBR who had to leave Belarus and now lives in Poland. The young man agreed to answer questions of Radio Svaboda correspondent, if he remains unnamed.
“The aim of this action is support imprisoned for participation in the action “Can’t Live Like That Anymore!”. We want to support our friends who struggled with us, and also well-known opposition figures – Bandarenka, Schukin, who were jailed. Besides we expressed our protest to the situation in Belarus”, - said one of the doers.
