Pension Payments Shifted by 4 Days 11:04, 11/06/2002
Starting from June the payments of pensions in the Brest region will be moved 4 days forward. Such a decision was passed by the Brest region committee in connection with the shortage of resources in the social protection foundation. The pensioners were told this on the days of payment, which provoked utter dissatisfaction among the pensioners, reports BelaPAN.
In the department of pensions and social allowances of the regional committee they explained that beginning with March this year the pension payment delays constituted in average from 2 to 10 days. In May the companies’ indebtedness before the social protection foundation significantly contracted, but the main problem with payments hasn’t been solved yet.
In the Brest region they used to pay pensions until the 15th of the current months, when the companies only started to transfer their dues. In this connection they ruled to alter the schedule of payments starting from June. In order to ease the financial pressure, experienced during the first period of payments (until the 10th) the pension payments through the country’s banks will be moved to the second part of the months.
