Procuracy Persecutes Over Payment Delays 11:20, 17/06/2002
127 officials were brought to administrative accountability in Belarus over the salary payment delays to their personnel. Such data are cited in the procuracy’s report, drawn upon the outcomes of the legislation examination, targeted at the timely payment of wages.
According to the procuracy’s press-service, in course of the third decade of May the salary indebtedness in the country contracted by 65%. However, the problem remains still acute in the agricultural industrial sector. The worst is the situation with income payments in the Brest region, while the smallest debt is witnessed in Minsk.
Prosecutors came to a conclusion that the major reason for the failure to pay off wages is the complex financial situation of many companies and the existence of significant creditor’s debt.
