Computer Clubs in Molodechno Under State Control
11:04, 09/08/2002

The education department of the Molodechno town hall is set to control computer clubs in the town. “Interfax” reports that the measure is supposed to contribute to the schoolchildren’s computer skills and help organize their leisure time more effectively.

According to the data, received by the information agency, they had worked out a schedule to examine the clubs at least twice a month. They even went as far as to set up a special commission, made up of the employees and teachers from the Molodechno town hall, psychologists, professors of sociology and programming. At the moment, every town’s computer club, which are over 20 in number, is assigned to a particular secondary school depending on its location.

The authorities forbade to play such computer games as “Armageddon” with any options and established a black list of games with negative episodes: “Quake-3”, “Unreal Tournament”, “Counter-Strike”, “Half-Life”, “Diablo”, “Alisa”, “Red Scorpio” and some others. Policemen are allowed to confiscate diskettes with such bloody games from clubs, so that the teenagers couldn’t have access to the elements of violence, pornography, raping and cursing. Those under legal age are allowed to attend computer clubs only in adults’ company.
