“Pahonya’s” case will once again be inserted into the annual report of the US State Department on human rights violations, Nikolai Markevich and Pavel Mozheiko were told by the secretaries of the US embassy, who paid visit yesterday to the Osipovichi and Zhlobin colonies.
First secretary of the embassy Ted Contek and third secretary Yan Turner privately traveled to the Zhlobin and Osipovichi corrective labor camps in order to examine the detention conditions of Markevich and Mozheiko. The diplomats assured the journalists that the embassy would thoroughly track the appearance of any new data on the persecution of “Pagonya” and apply every effort in order to thwart such evil practices as sentencing free journalists in the future.
