Printing Editions Get Costlier in Belarus 17:02, 21/10/2002
This year printed editions in Belarus are getting more and more expensive (except for paid services to the population). According to the Ministry of statistics and analysis, in January-September the cost of the printed editions rose by 50,2%, including in September – by 4,9%. In general, since the beginning of the year the consumer prices went 24,4% uphill.
At the same time the cost of the consumer and non-consumer goods increased by 17,9%, while of the paid services of the population – by 67,9%, reports BelaPAN.
Among the non-consumer goods the record on price-growth is firmly held by fuel – 38,7%, followed by bicycles and motorbikes – 35%, carpets – 26,8%, medications – 24,2%, tobacco goods – 23,2%.
As for the foodstuffs, the greatest price-increase happened on potatoes – 34,4%, button – 30,5%, alcohol beverages – 28,2%, alcohol-free beverages – 25%, sunflower oil – 24,4%. Meantime, vegetables became 22,8% cheaper.
Public utilities became 2,23 times more expensive, passenger transport fare – 58%, healthcare service – 36%, communications – 30,5%.
