Belarusian Police Cancels Lawsuit Over Kolomiyts’ Disappearance 16:48, 21/11/2002
Criminal action, unleashed by the Belarusian Interior Ministry concerning the disappearance of the director of the news agency “Ukrainian News” Mikhail Kolomiyts, is closed, “Mediafact” was told on Thursday by the first deputy head of the criminal search department of Interior Ministry Igor Leonovich.
Leonovich underscored that Kolomiyts’ medical expertise was held last Wednesday after the identification by the journalist’s relatives. According to him, “the expert conclusion was categorical and clear – no signs of violence have been discovered on his body”. Deputy chief reminded that the Belarusian law-enforcers had no doubt from the very beginning that it had been a suicidal act, which is also proven by Kolomiyts’ phone talks with his girlfriend and colleagues.
