Deputies of the Ukrainian Supreme Rada assume that investigation into the circumstances of death of the Ukrainian journalist Mikhail Kolomiyts is moving “slowly and ineffectively”. As said today at the parliament’s session by deputy Nikolai Tomenko, the joint Ukrainian-Belarusian expert group, formed in order to hold medical expertise of the late journalist’s body, haven’t commenced to do that yet.
Tomenko, being the head of the parliamentary committee for the freedom of speech and information, personally met with the prosecutor general of Ukraine Svyatoslav Piskun. In course of the conversation the deputy concluded that the “procuracy general is unable to adequately investigate into the matter”. Meantime, “Rosbalt” correspondent was told in the procuracy of Kiev, at the moment the law-enforcement bodies are carrying out a number of investigative activities. At least 20 witnesses in Ukraine had been already interrogated on the suicide case.
