Russian PM Demands Acceleration of Economic Integration 17:17, 10/12/2002
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov stated the necessity to pass the complex of measures on accelerating the Russian-Belarusian integration. “Russian and Belarusian experts grew more active over the past two months, whereas the presidents discussed in person the crucial integration issues,” – said Kasyanov at his Tuesday meeting in Moscow with the Belarusian Premier Gennady Novitsky.
As deemed by Kasyanov, at the recent meeting of Putin and Lukashenko, they gave a strong impetus to the governments of the two states. He added that the heads of states once again confirmed their readiness to integrate, form common economic zone and also regulate the economy in the proper way. “It is namely the complex decision-making which will bring about true integration, creating conditions for the companies and citizens to feel as if they were living in one country,” – said Kasyanov. He noted that he means not only free movement of goods and citizens but also financial and economic aspects of work for the companies and manufacture of the competitive production by them.
